Doulton Burslem vellum figure of Marguerite from the double-sided Mephistopheles and Marguerite figurine designed by Charles Noke. Designed and first issued circa 1891, this earthenware figure features a parchment-colored vellum finish. Marguerite is depicted holding a gilt prayer book while wearing an ivory dress adorned with gilt accents. The reverse side portrays Mephistopheles with intricate detailing in his attire, including gilt and polychrome embellishments.
