Description
This delightful One of the Forty (HN423) figurine by Harry Tittensor is part of Royal Doulton’s early 20th-century series inspired by Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Produced between 1920 and 1938, this rare variant is distinguished by its vibrant hand-painted coloration: a sunny yellow tunic, bright orange sleeves, a brown flowing robe, and a turban accented with green and lavender. The figure stands with a cheeky expression, hands clasped over his midsection, embodying Tittensor’s knack for characterful, whimsical design. Each piece was individually glazed and hand-painted, making every example unique. The base is impressed with DOULTON for authenticity. A charming and hard-to-find figure, perfect for collectors of literary-themed Royal Doulton, early Tittensor works, or vibrant period ceramics.
