We are thrilled to present to you an exceptional collection of totally unique Character Jugs, featuring some of the rarest and most exquisite pieces from Royal Doulton.
The city of Stoke-on-Trent, founded in 1910 as an amalgamation of six smaller Staffordshire pottery towns, celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1960. To commemorate this occasion, Royal Doulton produced a very limited edition of three large-size character jugs: Bacchus, Capt. Henry Morgan, and Izaak Walton. These jugs, adorned with a special backstamp, were given to dignitaries attending the celebration, courtesy of the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, Alderman Harold Clowes, and Lady Mayoress, Miss Christine Clowes.
